Free GST invoice generator
Fill in your business, your customer and what you sold. The generator works out CGST and SGST, or IGST, from your GSTIN and the place of supply, and checks the invoice as you type. Download it as a PDF when it is ready. No account, no card.
The totals come from the same tax engine InvoizeFlow uses for its own customers, and the PDF from the same renderer, so what you download is what the app itself would produce for the same details.

A worked example
Kaveri Design Studio, registered in Karnataka, invoices Sahyadri Foods Pvt Ltd in Maharashtra. They are in different states, so the whole 18% is charged as IGST.

What makes an invoice a tax invoice
Rule 46 of the CGST Rules lists what a tax invoice has to show. The generator asks for each of these and prints them:
- The supplier's name, address and GSTIN
- A consecutive serial number of up to 16 characters, using letters, digits, hyphens or slashes, unique for the financial year
- The date of issue
- The recipient's name, address and GSTIN if they are registered
- The HSN code for goods or the SAC code for services
- A description, the quantity and unit, and the total value
- The taxable value after any discount, the rate of each tax and the amount of each tax
- The place of supply, with the name of the state, for a supply between states
- Whether tax is payable on reverse charge
- The signature of the supplier or an authorised representative
Two things only you can know. Your numbers must run consecutively within your series for the financial year, and if the goods are delivered somewhere other than the place of supply, the delivery address belongs on the invoice as well.
CGST and SGST, or IGST
A supply within your own state carries the GST rate in two equal halves: central tax (CGST) and state tax (SGST). A supply to another state carries the whole rate as integrated tax (IGST). In a union territory without its own legislature (Chandigarh, Ladakh, Lakshadweep, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu) the state half is union territory tax, UTGST.
Which applies depends on the place of supply, not on where your customer's head office is. For goods it is usually where they are delivered; for most services to a registered business it is the customer's location. The generator starts from your customer's GSTIN and lets you choose another state.
HSN and SAC codes
Goods are classified by HSN code and services by SAC, which begins with 99. A business whose turnover in the previous financial year was up to ₹5 crore must show at least a 4-digit code on invoices to registered customers; above ₹5 crore, 6 digits on every invoice.
The generator accepts 4, 6 or 8 digits, and warns you when an item on an invoice to a registered customer has no code.
When your invoice is not a tax invoice
Without a GST registration you cannot charge GST, and your invoice should not call itself a tax invoice. Choose 'Not registered': the document is titled 'Invoice', charges no GST and shows your PAN if you give one.
Under the composition scheme you may not collect GST either. Choose 'Composition': no GST is charged, and the document carries the declaration the law asks for: 'Composition taxable person, not eligible to collect tax on supplies'.
E-invoicing
A business whose aggregate turnover has exceeded ₹5 crore in any financial year since 2017-18 must report its B2B invoices to the Invoice Registration Portal and print the IRN and QR code it returns. This generator does not do that, and its PDFs carry no IRN. If e-invoicing applies to you, issue B2B invoices through your e-invoicing system.
This page explains the rules in general terms. It is not tax advice; check anything specific to your business with your accountant.

No. What you type is sent to InvoizeFlow to check the totals and make the PDF, and is not stored there. Your draft is kept in your own browser so a reload does not lose it; 'Clear' removes it.
The rate set for your goods or services, found by their HSN or SAC code. The GST Council revises rates from time to time, so check the current rate before you invoice; the generator lists the rates InvoizeFlow supports on each line.
The whole GST rate is charged as IGST instead of being split into CGST and SGST. The generator decides this from your GSTIN and the place of supply, and the totals show which applies.
No. It has no IRN or QR code from the Invoice Registration Portal. If e-invoicing applies to your business, your B2B invoices must go through the portal.
Yes. The logo is printed in the header and the signature above 'Authorised signatory'. Both are resized in your browser before they are sent.
